Summertime Quest for the
Snow Leopard and the Ancient Buddhist Culture of Ladakh
---- Trip dates: July 22 to August 11, 2008 A trip to
benefit the snow leopard, and the Ladakhi people who conserve
its habitat.: KarmaQuest has teamed up with the Snow
Leopard Conservancy and Ladakhi partners in ecotourism to offer
this one-of-a-kind trip -- trekking through snow leopard country
in Ladakh, India. Your visit will help support local farmers
to protect these endangered wild cats and generate income for
education and jobs in these remote mountain villagers. In addition
to the wildlife-viewing trek, you'll experience the rich culture
and traditions of Ladakh, in village homes and at some of the
best preserved Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the world. Some
were built in the 10th century and still actively functioning
today.

Benefiting Paropakar Orphans (October 3 to 17, 2008) takes you on to some of our favorite spots around the Kathmandu and Pokhara Valleys, including several World Heritage Sites, and on a mountain flight for a bird's eye view of Mt. Everest. A highlight of the trip is a visit to Paropakar Orphanage in Kathmandu. KarmaQuest has a long-standing relationship with Paropakar and Virtue’s Children Nepal, a charitable organization that will oversee the delivery of your generous educational scholarship funds to the neediest children at Paropakar. TWO IN ONE! "A Festival and Eco-Tour of Bhutan,and " An Invitation to Sikkim: A Cultural Tour and Home Visit with KarmaQuest
On this eleven day trip in Bhutan, you’ll have the chance to attend two "tshechus" (Buddhist ritual dance festivals) plus a community festival that celebrates the Black Necked Crane, an endangered bird that is honored and protected by the people of Phobjikha Valley. Next, KarmaQuest invites you on this specially designed journey to Darjeeling and Sikkim, allowing you “a day in the life” experience in a Himalayan kingdom. Hosted by native Sikkimese Karma Lama, you’ll be treated as honored family guests as you travel across this sacred and pristine landscape.
